Our future leaders struggle to find a time and space to be heard. It is our duty to give our youth the ability to advocate for their needs in a safe environment. Our two Volunteens, Gabriel and Noli, served as planners and facilitators for this listening session; offering insight to what activities and incentives to include. At our Youth Listening Session, a group of 13 youth came together to listen to one another, advocate their needs and share their hopes for the future. It was inspiring to hear their hope and optimism for the next generation. We listened whole-heartedly and we look forward to offer our support with their shared values and goals.

The Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians is a native sovereign nation of Northern Los Angeles County with historic ties to Mission San Fernando. Their traditional, historic, and ancestral tribal territory encompasses four valleys: the San Fernando, Simi, Santa Clarita, and Antelope Valleys.
