As part of our Summer Adventure Program, youth participants embarked on an exciting hike through the beautiful Escondido Falls trail. Surrounded by scenic landscapes and natural beauty, the group had the opportunity to explore the outdoors, build confidence, and enjoy a day of physical activity while learning about the local environment. The hike encouraged teamwork, resilience, and a deeper appreciation for nature.
Leading the adventure was our guide, Nathan Nunez (Xaapchivitam Clan of the Eastern San Gabriel Mountains), who shared his knowledge of the trail and helped youth navigate the journey safely. Nathan pointed out unique features of the area, provided insight into the region’s natural history, and ensured that everyone had a positive and engaging experience. The outing was a memorable part of the Summer Adventure Program and gave participants the chance to connect with nature while creating lasting memories with their peers.
