The Education & Cultural Learning Department (ECLD) hosted a spring family gathering that brought FTBMI citizens together to celebrate renewal, connection, and community care. Families spent the day visiting, sharing stories, and welcoming the season in a relaxed, family-centered space rooted in cultural learning and togetherness. A highlight of the event was a youth game of shinny, which drew enthusiastic cheers as young players built confidence, teamwork, and pride with encouragement from family members lining the sidelines.

Inside the arts-and-crafts area, participants of all ages painted clapper sticks and gourds, blending creativity with learning about the cultural significance of these items. The activity tables became gathering spaces for conversation, guidance, and shared techniques, with finished pieces carried home as lasting reminders of the day. By the end of the gathering, the sense of unity was clear, reflecting ECLD’s commitment to joyful, accessible cultural learning that strengthens community bonds and supports cultural continuity.
